An institution, Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, it is almost a century old. It was originally a greyhound racing track when it opened in 1922. It became a thoroughbred racing track by 1925, operated by Miami Jockey Club. Culture fanatics would find this place heaven. Formerly known as Milander Auditorium, this has been a mecca for culture since after its major renovations in 2013. This is just one of the few cultural centers in Hialeah. It often hosts major exhibits and concerts.

An open space dedicated to arts, Garden of the Arts has been gaining buzz among the younger generations. Don’t be fooled by the expanse of houses in the area- Garden of the Arts is just located at the back of Palmetto Expressway. Considered one of the most beautiful parks in the city, it is a hybrid between a museum and art gallery. The sculptures and other installations are complemented by the lush greenery of the area. There are often concerts happening in its amphitheater. Its trails are suitable for hiking and biking too.

Translated as “Damn, That’s Cheap”, Ñooo! ¡Que Barato! Is surely hard to miss. Look for the yellow building located in between Okeechobee Road and West 12 Avenue and you find yourself at one of the cheapest Cuban stores in the city. We are not just talking about Cuban cigars here. In this shopping center, you can score hard-to-find Cuban products such as batas de casa and even San Lazaro statues of different sizes.
